10 Best Things to do During Fall

Now that fall's finally here, most of our schedules are pretty busy with school, work and other commitments. However, there are still probably times that you might find yourself having absolutely nothing to do! I've got quite a few ideas for great boredom busters that you need to try during this chilly (at least where I live), colourful, and exciting season.
1. The first thing that can be super fun to do during fall is to plan out your Halloween costumes with friends. It's always a great idea to decide on group costumes that come from the same movie, book or tv show. Not only is this something really amusing and entertaining to figure out, but it can also get decently time consuming!
2. There's nothing like taking some time for yourself, especially when cooler temperatures start to hit. Buy yourself some nice bath bombs or pull out those bath salts that you've been putting off using for a few months! No matter how stressed you get from this quite commonly busy time of year, it's super important to take care of yourself and to squeeze a little you-time into your hectic schedule.
3. Going for a walk is something great to do when you're bored in pretty much any season - but in fall, the leaves start to change colours and everything starts to morph into something much more beautiful. Especially during golden hour, when everything glows and when the lighting becomes crazy gorgeous as well. Whether it's around your neighbourhood or deep into gorgeous, autumn forests, this is a simple and photo-worthy way to spend your day or your evening.
4. If you love coffee as much as I do, you already know that discovering new places around town can be one of the most interesting (and delicious) pass times EVER. Especially with the cooler temperatures of the colourful fall season just around the corner, you'll most likely find yourself craving some warm beverages and unhealthy snacks (s'mores anyone?). Treat yo'self to some of your favourite treats and investigate some places around your area that you've been meaning to check out!
5. On a budget? No problem! Decorating your house, room or apartment is an amazing way to bring fall inside your home. So many dollar stores are already selling fake pumpkins, Halloween decorations, and fall-themed candy for pretty great prices. There's an infinite amount of trendy fall DIY projects out there with your name written all over them!
6. Fall is known in many places as fair season. I love going to fairs, especially ones that are close by! If you've never even considered going to one before, you definitely should research what sort of events are going on where you live. There's usually a few concerts, sometimes animals like horses and miniature ponies, and super fun rides as well. All in all, fairs absolutely lead to days and nights well spent with my experience. Be sure to check 'em out!
7. Go on a study date! This one is especially relevant to every high school and college/university student out there. Let's be honest - sometimes it gets incredibly hard to become motivated to get stuff done. Organizing a cute lil' study date is something that always gets me back into my productive mindset - perfect for getting that assignment you've been procrastinating finished with ease. Check out a new coffee shop or hit up the library, and get your productivity on!
8. For a lot of farmers where I am, fall season is apple season. Apple picking is a great, time consuming, incredibly fun activity that's perfect to plan out for a weekend sometime soon! Not only is this totally a day spent well, but you can also get some fresh fruit out of it. It's a truly great feeling and experience to pick your own fruit. Plus, if you enjoy baking, these apples taste absolutely amazing in apple pies as well as apple crumble recipes.
9. If you have access to somewhere that offers hay rides, you have to take advantage of that and check it out. If I'm being completely honest, hay rides are something I've always loved to do, especially in the colder seasons of the year. They're so fun, and it's so cool to meet some gorgeous horses!
10. Last but not least, baking is another great activity to partake in during autumn. As mentioned before, apple pies and apple crumbles are just a couple delicious examples of what's available recipe wise. Nowadays, there are tons and tons of pumpkin spice recipes out there as well, especially in the magical online realm of Pinterest!
There are so many fall related activities out there, there's really an option for everyone. Certain, simple things like corn mazes and fairs can make autumn a highlight of your year. I hope this post has inspired you to get out there this season, experience some new things and maybe even meet some new people!
